The Rodney Gonzalez Memorial Scholarship

In memory of Rodney Gonzalez, RHS Class of 2018, a $500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior student who exemplifies the same qualities as Rodney Gonzalez. Rodney was hardworking and maintained his focus no matter the struggles that he endured. He was sweet, helpful, and always had a smile on his face. He brought joy to those around him and was a positive influence on others. This scholarship seeks to recognize and honor a student who reflects the spirit and virtues of Rodney Gonzalez. Applicants must be currently enrolled and have completed an RHS Spanish course with Mrs. Curtis.

The scholarship requirement will be awarded in part based on the following criteria:

• A current graduating senior from Riverview High School
• Completion or current enrollment in Mrs. Curtis' Spanish Class (Riverview High School)
• An unweighted GPA of at least 3.0
• Proof of acceptance to college or trade school
• A one-page essay to include what they plan to study and why they feel they should be awarded the scholarship.

The application deadline is April 5, 2024.
